We
can't reuse time either, but we can reuse paper, any paper, by taking recovered
materials and breathing life back into them. |

Corporate Headquarters is in the historic Haehnel Store Building. Built in the
1880s, it was a general store for the residents of East Austin until the mid-1950s.
In the '60s, it reopened as Shorty's Bar and operated for about 20 years. Shorty's
was vacant for more than 20 years - until recently when Balcones Resources moved
its corporate headquarters there. The Austin Revitalization Authority, a local
non-profit agency, owns the building and has overseen the renovation of the historic
building as well as other revitalization projects in the area. Shorty's is the
first in a string of projects planned for the neighborhood. Construction of retail
shops and offices, along with townhouses, will break ground later this year across
the street from Shorty's - new home of Balcones Resources corporate offices. Balcones
Resources continued its sustainable building practices by preserving as much of
the character, history and materials as possible. 1101
