Balcones Resources, with locations in Austin, Dallas (Farmers Branch) and Little Rock, is the largest independent recycler of high-grade office paper and provider of comprehensive environmental services in the Southwest.

Balcones Recycling was named after the Balcones Escarpment, a geological formation in Central Texas, from which many springs and creeks have been created, thus providing life to the area. Since the company's efforts centered on helping the environment, founders believed the name was a good match with the mission and the company's original location. The word "balcones" is Spanish for balcony or overlook.
